What is Faith Satellite Radio?
Faith Satellite Radio™ is the only faith based satellite radio service covering Africa, and Europe. Faith Satellite Radio™ has teamed up with SIGNIS, the World Catholic Association for Communication to broadcast high-quality digital Catholic programming, courtesy of Vatican Radio, to 31 countries in Africa. Faith Satellite Radio™ uses the WorldSpace Satellite Radio Network’s AfriStar™ satellite, to broadcast digital-quality audio channels to the faith community in Africa and around the world. The AfriStar™ satellite has three beams that cover the entire continent and broadcast directly to fixed and portable satellite radios. Inside each satellite radio receiver is a proprietary chipset designed to lock onto the AfriStar™ signal in your region of the world.

How does Faith Satellite Radio work?
Faith Satellite Radio™ uses WorldSpace Satellite Radio Network’s’ AfriStar™ satellite, to broadcast digital-quality audio channels to people around the world who want Faith Based programming that is not available or rarely found on local, regional or national terrestrial radio. Located inside each Faith Satellite Radio audio receiver is a proprietary chipset designed to lock onto the Afristar ™ satellite signal in your region of the world.
How is Faith Satellite Radio different from conventional radio?
Choice: Faith Satellite Radio™ provides digital quality audio programming with content from faith organizations around the world.
Clarity: Listen to radio the way it was meant to be heard, in full digital form that can be heard via built-in speakers in portable receivers or run through computer and in-home systems to provide sound quality that cannot be found from terrestrial AM & FM radio. In-car receivers allow you take your favorite Faith Satellite Radio channel with you across town or across countries.
Also, each portable Faith Satellite Radio receiver is equipped with a data port that transforms it into a wireless "datacast" modem able to download data, streaming video and multimedia content to personal computers at rates of up to 128kbps.
Coverage: The Faith Satellite Radio digital signal means no fading, noise or interference. The system delivers digital quality sound in a coverage area of 14 million square kilometers. As long as you're in line of sight with the satellite, you'll never lose Faith Satellite Radio’s high-quality sound.

Faith Satellite Radio broadcasts in the frequency 1467-1492 MHz of the "L" band.
Can I use any receiver to access the Faith Satellite Radio broadcasts?
No. Each Faith Satellite Radio satellite radio receiver has a special chipset, which translates the satellite signal into digital audio.
Are the Faith Satellite Radio receivers portable?
Faith Satellite Radio receivers are made for home, work and for carrying to outdoor activities. They can receive the satellite signal and give you the same quality of sound anywhere in the coverage area, as long as you are in the line of sight of the satellite.
